I know I should be bold enough to confront to the chef. At least he shows his willingness to improve?
At that point I thought we were the problem one. We attempt to escape quietly and obviously we failed haha.
After coming back to KL, we began to understand how Kolo Mee and Chicken Rice should be. So, I'm confident that those two dishes we took on that day was not that delicious. I'm sorry Singapore, but that's just how I feel.
Despite the tasting, his service was top notch no doubt! How do I wish Malaysia will practice good services? I know it's not always we can get the best of both worlds. Either good service lousy food, or bad service good food, your choice.
What do you think? Which one would you prefer: Food or Service? (Cannot say I want both ar)
Anyway, this happens many years ago. After this, my Singaporean friend told me that there's nothing special in Lau Pa Sat, and it was overrated (oh really?). Plus, I'd heard that Singapore's food standard has been improved dramatically over these past few years. Perhaps that owner has improved his dish?
Ending this post with some pictures taken at Lau Pa Sat:
The Entrance.
The inside. This is the only food court I've ever seen thus far with such beautiful roof top! And very clean, too!
This is the Kolo Mee I mentioned about.
And this is the Chicken Rice.
Got Char Siew + Siew Yok some more (not delicious)
Don't know where did this Crazygirl bought all these.
Food and service come hand in hand..this is coming from a chef resting his right hand. there are no shortcuts in making food and based on my experiences; it is worth it
ReplyDeleteSo you'll be based on good food? :D
DeleteGood food bad service. I won't visit again.
ReplyDeleteNot for me. I still will visit, if I'm very craving for it! XD
Deletekesian! wanna be frank will hurt him. But he sounds so eager to serve. haihhh!!! I normally will tell the truth and hope they can't improve. Normally they unable to take it so well if you be frank. I guess truth is hurt sometimes.
ReplyDeleteermm the Kolo Mee is different from Sarawak. Should try Sarawak Kolok Mee. i did not go there as taxi driver mention this is for tourist place and food expensive and so ...so

ReplyDeleteboth is important! for me . must be both .
ReplyDeletebeen to a hotel for buffet before bought the coupon to go eat. Then later tell them of their food variety too much of one flavour then reply me negatively.
ReplyDeleteI went to Singapore twice but know nothing about Lau Pa Sat. So, it's a place for me to check out the next time I am there.
ReplyDeletedont think i visit them . but the char siew look good
ReplyDeletenever went there before...hehehe the food looks tempting but not suitable for me...since I am Muslim
ReplyDeleteAt least the chef willing to ask. Some just can't take it if you condemn their food.
ReplyDeleteNever been there before but the place look big also, I love Kolo Mee.
ReplyDeleteHmm but at least the chef willing to ask right? Nowadays chef don't ask if you don't like the food you can just leave.. I want to try the kolo mee
ReplyDeleteI prefer service rather than good food~~~ but the best is both la~~~
ReplyDeleteWel no harm giving him some constructive feedbacks so he can improve. He also sounds like a nice guy so I'm sure he'll listen.
ReplyDeleteNever went to this place before. But will not visit after knowing their service so bad from you.
ReplyDeletelooking at the pictures it seems pretty tasty so its true pictures are for illustrations purposes only
ReplyDeletedon't care, i still want both! hahaha
ReplyDeletesuch a pity it doesn't taste good, probably its the different sauces they used? :(
